Dhenkanal: A man died while his wife was critically injured after being attacked by an elephant at Chandpur village under Mahabirod Range in Dhenkanal Forest Division on Monday.
Reportedly, the deceased identified as Ramesh Behera of the village, and his wife Tara Behera had gone to attend nature’s call to a nearby waterbody today morning when they were attacked by the elephant.
Both of them were rescued by forest department officials and rushed to Mahabirod hospital. From there they were shifted to Sub-divisional Hospital, Kamakhyanagar, where the doctor declared Ramesh dead.
