Keonjhar: A tusker was found dead in Telkoi under Salleikla block in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Friday. According to Forest Department officials, the elephant is aged around 20 years.
According to reports, local villagers spotted the carcass of the tusker and informed the Forest Department, which has started an investigation into the elephant’s death
While the reason behind the death of the tusker is yet to be ascertained, a few days ago, another elephant died in the region in a train collision. The Forest authorities are concerned over the frequent elephant deaths in the region.
