Two Accused In ATM Robbery Case Flee Nabarangapur Court After Conviction

Bhubaneswar: Two accused facing charges in an ATM robbery case escaped from Nabarangapur CJM court premises after being pronounced guilty on Monday.

The duo was among five individuals arrested for looting Rs 2.4 lakh from an SBI ATM in Nabarangapur block on January 31, 2024.

As per reports, five accused Sakil Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Fazal Khan, Jahul Khan of Haryana and Nikhil Kumar of Bihar were arrested in connection with the robbery. Two of the accused, Sakil Khan and Shahrukh Khan were on bail and appeared in court today for the verdict.

The court delivered its verdict, pronouncing all five accused guilty and sentenced them to 7 years imprisonment. Sakil Khan and Shahrukh Khan, however, managed to escape from the court premises after the verdict was pronounced.

Though police have launched extensive search operations to catch the escaped accused, failed to make an arrest so far.
