Soro (Balasore): Soro police within five hours of the occurrence of the crime have arrested two persons in connection with the murder of a youth on National Highway no. 16 near Talanagar on Friday night.
The accused have been identified as Sibunu Patra (23) and Pratyush Senapati (23) of Chudanga Sahi and Dolamandap Sahi respectively in Puri.
The deceased youth has been identified as Rabinarayan Guli of Gundicha Temple area of Puri who was staying at Talapada Virla village in Bahanaga block after marrying Ushamani Das of the same village.
A police team led by Soro IIC Pravanshu Sekhar Mishra with the help of Puri and Commissionerate Police arrested the accused persons from near Pipili.
“Yesterday we received information at around 10.30 PM that a youth had been attacked with a bhujali in Soro police station jurisdiction. Immediately Soro police team under the leadership of SDPO Sadar got active and a team was constituted to ascertain the cause of the murder and nab the accused. Within five hours of occurrence, the accused persons were apprehended with close coordination of the Commissionerate Police and Puri police. The accused persons were apprehended on the way to Puri. both have been arrested,” informed Balasore SP Sagarika Nath at a presser here today.
Nath said that upon investigating the motive behind the murder police came to know that the accused had given some money to the victim to procure a gun and when the former neither procured the gun nor returned the money the latter attacked him and took away his motorcycle.
The incident is the fallout of the personal enmity of two criminals, Nath added.
