Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, two children lost their lives after being attacked by an elephant in Kantapali village, Sundergarh district, on Sunday.
The victims, a 12-year-old boy and a three-year-old baby girl were killed in the attack that occurred at Munda Sahi village in the Tamra range.
According to reports, the elephant demolished the house while the family was asleep. As the family members ran out of the house, the elephant dragged the 12-year-old boy and crushed him. The three-year-old girl, who was left behind, was also killed by the elephant.
Police and forest department officials rushed to the spot and inspected the incident. This incident comes after a forest department employee was seriously injured in an elephant attack in Tamada range, Sundergarh district, on Friday night. The employee, who suffered fractures in legs and ribs, is undergoing treatment in Rourkela.
