Two Cousins Die Of Electrocution In Balasore Paddy Field

Balasore: In a tragic incident, two cousins lost their lives after coming in contact with a live electric wire in Kapasuda village under Jaleswar police station limits of Balasore district on Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Rabindra Jena and Jagannath Jena, both residents of Kapasuda.

According to local sources, the mishap occurred when a snapped high-voltage wire fell into a waterlogged paddy field where the cousins were working.

One of them was electrocuted after stepping on the live wire. In a desperate attempt to save him, the other rushed to his aid but also came in contact with the wire, leading to his death. Both died on the spot.

The shocking incident has cast a pall of gloom over the entire village. On being informed, Jaleswar police reached the site and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the electrocution.
