Koraput: At least two people were killed and another critically injured in a road accident near Kunduli High School along National Highway-26 under Pottangi police station limits in Koraput district on Tuesday.
According to sources, the incident occurred when a motorcycle carrying three persons was attempting to overtake a bus. At the same time, a pickup van approaching from the opposite direction collided head-on with the bike, leading to a severe crash.
One of the motorcycle riders died on the spot due to the impact, while the other two sustained serious injuries. The injured were rushed to Kunduli Community Health Centre (CHC) for treatment, where one more person succumbed to injuries. The condition of the third injured person remains critical.
Preliminary information suggests that the motorcycle riders were residents of the Andhra Pradesh border area.
On receiving information, Pottangi police reached the accident site and initiated an investigation.
