Bhubaneswar: Two youths died and another sustained critical injuries after the bike they were travelling in hit a truck being parked on Madhusudan Bridge connecting CDA Sector 11 and Nuapatna late Friday night.
According to sources, the impact of the accident was so forceful that the youths travelling in the bike were dragged for almost half a kilometre which led to the death of two of them on the spot.
The accident took place due to rash driving. When the bike hit the truck at high speed, it caused the rider to lose control and crash. The impact was severe enough to cause the death of two others.
Locals, however, rushed the injured youth to a nearby hospital. His condition is stated to be critical.
Upon being informed, police seized the vehicle and began investigating it.
