Bhubaneswar: Two truck drivers died when a coal-laden truck collided head-on with an iron-ore truck near Kunduruburu under K.Balang police station area on NH-520 early Saturday morning.
The deceased drivers have been identified as residents of Keonjhar’s Barbil and Uttar Pradesh.
According to reports, the iron-ore truck, heading to Bania, lost control after brake failure while descending Chuna Ghati slope. It crossed the divider, veering into the opposite lane, and crashed into the coal truck heading to Koida.
Upon being informed, Fire brigade and police personnel reached the scene and extracted the bodies after a prolonged effort. K.Balang police are investigating.
