Bhubaneswar: One person died and another was rescued from drowning while bathing in a river at Digapahandi in Ganjam district on Sunday.
According to reports, two friends drowned while bathing in the river. While one of them drowned, the other was rescued in time by locals and dragged to safety.
The injured friend was initially taken to Digapahandi Hospital, but was later referred to MK CG Medical College and Hospital as his condition deteriorated.
Eyewitnesses stated that one friend was swept away by the river current. Seeing it, the other jumped in to save him. As a result, both got drowned.
