Sambalpur: At least five medical students were reportedly injured in a violent clash between two groups of students at VIMSAR, Burla.

According to reports, a clash erupted between students of VIMSAR and MKCG Medical College & Hospital, Berhampur during the ongoing inter-college medical festival ‘Euphoria’ at VIMSAR.

Allegedly, students of VIMSAR pelted stones on a bus full of students from MKCG Medical College & Hospital who had arrived to participate in the inter-college fest.

Even fire extinguishers were used causing breathing issues as the bus was locked from outside.

The injured students were admitted to the Casualty Department of VIMSAR and their condition is stated to be stable.

Principal and Dean, VIMSAR Dr Jayashree Dora, however, said that though she has seen the videos circulating in social media platforms, none have lodged any complaint about the incident. She said she will be conducting an enquiry into the incident.
