Sambalpur: Miscreants hurled bomb near a mosque at Pir Baba square in Sambalpur on Tuesday.
The law breakers threw the bomb from the over bridge and fled the spot. Two persons were injured in the incident, police said.
The reason has not yet been ascertained. IG (northern range) Himansu Lal, SP Mukesh Bhamu reached the spot with a team and launched an inquiry.
Police have sealed area and intensified checking at entry and exit points in the city.
A motor cycle has been partially damaged in the incident.
“Two persons suffered minor injuries. They are out of danger. Hand bombs were used in the explosion. Now, the situation under control,” the SP said.
Investigation is underway. The culprits will be nabbed soon, he added.
