Bhubaneswar: In a tragic road accident, two persons died after a speeding car lost control and rammed into a roadside dhaba (eatery) on National Highway 143 near Jamuna Nagar in the Kuarmunda area under Birmitrapur police station late on Sunday night.
According to reports, a Creta car was travelling at high speed from the Birmitrapur side when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car veered off the road and crashed directly into Sonu Dhaba near Jamuna Nagar. The impact caused significant damage to the dhaba. As a result, three persons travelling in the car were critically injured.
Local residents immediately rushed the injured to the Rourkela Government Hospital where doctors declared two of them dead on arrival, while the third person is undergoing treatment in critical condition.
On receiving information, police reached the spot and have initiated an investigation to ascertain the cause of the accident.
