Anugola: Two persons were killed after two trucks, including a Hyva vehicle, collided head-on on National Highway-149 near Saradhapur under Samal police station limits in Kaniha block of Anugola district on Saturday.
According to reports, the two heavy vehicles collided near Saradhapur, following which a massive fire broke out and engulfed both trucks. The intensity of the blaze was so high that the vehicles were completely damaged.
The deceased truck driver and another person were residents of Jharkhand. They died in the accident following the collision.
The mishap led to disruption of vehicular movement on the highway as the burning trucks blocked the road.
After receiving information, personnel from Samal police station along with Fire Brigade officials rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control.
Police have started an investigation into the accident to ascertain the exact cause of the collision.
