Rayagada: Two persons were killed in a tragic road accident after a motorcycle collided head-on with an oil tanker on National Highway 326 near Palupai village under Ramanaguda police limits in Rayagada district on Monday.
According to reports, the impact of the collision was so severe that both riders of the motorcycle died on the spot. Following the incident, Ramanaguda police rushed to the scene and sent the bodies to the Ramanaguda Community Health Centre for post-mortem.
Preliminary reports suggest that the ill-fated motorcycle, bearing registration number OD 18-B-7842, belongs to Bhaskar Rao Minia, a resident of Tuluguda village near Gumma under Rayagada block. However, the identities of the deceased have not yet been confirmed, police said.
The police have launched an investigation to ascertain the cause of the accident and to identify the victims.
