Bhubaneswar: Two people lost their lives and several others were critically injured in a road accident near Kandasara village under Digapahandi police limits in Ganjam district on Saturday.
According to reports, the accident occurred when a motorcycle collided head-on with an auto rickshaw. The rider S. Simanchal Reddy and pillion rider Kunti Gauda died on the spot while the occupants of the auto rickshaw sustained critical injuries. They have been admitted to Digapahandi Hospital.
The fatal incident occurred while Reddy and Gauda were returning to village from Bankeswari Temple.
Upon receiving the information, police seized the bodies and sent them for autopsy. An investigation has been initiated into the incident, police said.
