Bhubaneswar: In a tragic road accident, two youths were killed and two others were critically injured when the rear wheel of the car they were travelling in suddenly came off, causing the vehicle to lose balance, hit a bridge, and fell off the bridge.
The incident occurred near Rasol Chhak under Daitari Police Station in Keonjhar district on the Brahmanipal-Keonjhar Road.
According t o reports, the four youths were travelling from Dhenkanal to Ghatagaon to seek blessing of Maa Tarini when they met with the mishap. While the car was in motion, its rear wheel detached suddenly. As a result, the driver lost control, and the vehicle rammed into the side of a bridge before falling down.
Two youths died on the spot, while the other two sustained serious injuries. Local residents and police immediately rushed the injured to the spot and rescued the injured. The critically injured were first taken to a nearby hospital before being shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for advanced treatment.
Daitari Police reached the spot, initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident.
