Jajpur: Two labourers from West Bengal’s Malda Town were electrocuted to death while they were engaged in fabrication work at a project under Odisha’s Jajpur Road police limits on Friday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Indrajit Mandal and Rezabul Seikh, both residents of West Bengal.
According to reports, the deceased were engaged by Krishna Builders in a construction project. At the time of the accident, the two workers were cutting rods with a cutting machine. They were electrified and fell unconscious when the machine was connected to electricity. Fellow labourers rushed them to Jajpur Road Hospital where they were the doctors declared them ‘brought dead’.
On being informed, police arrived at the hospital and sent the bodies for post-mortem. An investigation has been launched into the accident.
