Two Minor Boys Meet Watery Grave In Balasore

Balasore: In a heart-wrenching incident, two children drowned to death in a canal near Mangalpur under Soro police station on Monday.

According to reports, three friends – Bibhu, Haria and Sai – had ventured to the canal for a playful afternoon. However, the outing turned fatal when two of them accidentally slipped into the water and drowned.

Bibhu called people residing near the canal who promptly informed the fire brigade personnel. Upon being informed, the firefighting team rushed to the spot and launched a search operation.

After an extensive search for four hours, the fire brigade officials recovered the bodies of the two victims Sai Mahesh Nayak (10), son of Himanshu Nayak, a resident of Gopinathpur panchayat Bari Sahi and Harihar Das (13), son of Ashok Das, a resident of Alipur.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, leaving families and residents in mourning.
