Bhubaneswar: Two minor girls drowned while bathing in a pond at Mundaguda village under Chalanguda gram panchayat in Malkangiri district on Wednesday.
Reportedly, the deceased identified as Arsi and Nandini had gone to take a bath in the village pond yesterday afternoon. As they did not return home after hours, their family members got worried.
When they were unable to trace their whereabouts near the pond, the family members informed the police.
Subsequently, police and fire personnel reached the spot and launched a search operation. After a lot of effort, the bodies of the two minor girls were recovered from the pond.
