Debagada: In a heartbreaking incident, a two-month-old infant died after being bitten by a poisonous snake in Tileimala village under Tileibani block in Debagada district. The child’s father is undergoing treatment and his condition is stated to be critical.

The deceased has been identified as Ramachandra Kisan’s son Nitesh Kisan.

As per reports, the incident occurred while the father and son were sleeping on the verandah of their house. Instead of seeking immediate medical help, the family reportedly resorted to traditional practices to heal the father-son duo following the snakebite. As a result, the infant died.

Some local youths later intervened, convinced the family to shift the critically injured father to a hospital for proper medical treatment.
