Car Catches Fire

Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a car caught fire due to a suspected short circuit while traveling on the Puri-Bhubaneswar National Highway near Kalpana-Panthanivas on Thursday. The state government’s Information Commission Registrar and his driver, who were on their way to work, had a narrow escape and avoided a major accident.

According to reports, the car suddenly caught fire as it neared the Kalpana-Panthanivas area. Seeing the flames, both the driver and the Registrar quickly exited the vehicle. Moments later, the car was engulfed in flames right in the middle of the road.

Upon receiving a call, fire brigade personnel arrived at the scene and successfully extinguished the fire.

While the exact cause of the fire is still unclear, a short circuit is believed to be the likely cause.
