Two Poachers Arrested With Guns From Core Area Of Similipal Tiger Reserve

Baripada: Forest Department personnel on Wednesday arrested two poachers and seized five country-made guns, ammunition and other weapons from their possession in the core area of the Similipal Tiger Reserve. According to reports, two of the five country-made guns, one is semi-automatic.

A trap camera inside the core area of the reserve forest captured photographs of the hunters carrying guns. Based on this photo, the Forest Department arrested the hunters.

A case has been registered against the arrested poachers under the Wildlife Protection Act and Arms Act.

The Deputy Director of South Similipal has informed that the poachers will be produced in court on Thursday.
