Two Senior Clerks Of Odisha Govt Get 2 Yrs RI In Bribery Case

Bhubaneswar: Special Judge, Vigilance, Angul on Thursday sentenced a retired senior clerk Niranjan Dehury and former senior clerk Lambodhar Behera both of Chhendipada Tahasil in Angul district to two years rigorous imprisonment (RI) and fine after convicting them in a bribery case.

According to an official press release, both Dehury and Behera were charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance under section 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d)/7 PC Act,1988 for demanding and accepting a bribe from a complainant for finalization of mutation case and handing over RoR (Patta) after necessary correction.

Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for dismissal of Lambodar Behera, presently serving as a senior clerk at Collectorate, Angul from service and stoppage of pension of Niranjan Dehury, ex-senior clerk (retired) following their conviction.
