Angul: A man and his brother-in-law sustained serious bullet injuries after being shot at by miscreants at Kanhei Nagar under Bantala police station in Angul district.
The two critically injured are Shibaram Naik, 28, and Bishnu Charan Naik (40). Both are residents of Kanhai Nagar area under Bantala police station.
According to reports, the incident occurred when Bishnu Charan and Shibaram Nayak were returning home from Angul town in an auto-rickshaw. Five miscreants on two motorcycles intercepted them near Bandurga in Kanhai Nagar, halted the auto, and opened fire. As a result, Shibaram and Bishnu Charan suffered critical injuries.
Bishnu Charan was shot three times in both thighs and once in the stomach, while Shibaram Nayak sustained bullet injuries to his stomach.
Bishnu Charan attributed the attack to a previous enmity. Due to their critical condition, both victims have been transferred to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. Upon receiving news of the incident, Bantala police arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation.
