Wall Collapse At Nuapada

Bhubaneswar: Two women lost their lives and a minor boy was critically injured after a wall collapsed at an under-construction poultry farm in Patkarpali village under Lakhana police limits in Nuapada district on Sunday.

The deceased have been identified as Balamati Shabara (35) and her aunt Rupe Shabara (61), while the injured minor has been named Ridhi Shabara.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 11 am when the two women visited the poultry farm. A section of the wall gave way due to continuous rainfall, trapping them beneath bricks and cement debris. Balamati was the wife of Dibakar Shabara, who is supervising the poultry farm’s construction.

Upon receiving the information, police personnel from Lakhana rushed to the site, rescued the injured boy, and immediately admitted him to a nearby hospital. The bodies of the two women were recovered later from the rubble.

The incident has shocked the local community and investigations into the collapse are underway.
