Two Women Forest Personnel Suspended Over Elephant Death In Kuldiha Sanctuary

Bhubaneswar:  Two forest officials Hatikholia section under Nilagiri forest range in Balasore district were suspended in connection with the death of an elephant Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary.

Similipal Field Director suspended Forester Padmavati Behera and Forest Guard Pramila Sena for dereliction of duty. Their negligence allegedly led to the death of the jumbo.

After their suspension, Jayant Kumar Pradhan was appointed as the forester in Hatikholia section while Manohar Singh replaced Pramila as Forest Guard of Hatikholia Beat. Similarly, Ayushman Panda was appointed as Forest Guard of Mangalpur Beat.

A few days ago, carcass of an elephant was found in Kuldiha forest under Niliagiri forest range.
