Balasore: The beheaded bodies of two youths were recovered from the Danda Haripur gate near Bahanaga station in Balasore district Monday night.
However, the identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.
Soro outpost Assistant Sub-inspector DK Mishra said, “We got information from Bahanaga station master around 2.30 am that two youths were killed after being hit by Puri-Howrah Superfast Express. Acting on a tip-off, we rushed to the spot and learnt from the gatemen that the two youths came to the spot on a bike when the gates remained closed for the arrival of the Puri-Howrah Superfast train. One of the youths got down from the bike and came in front of the train. Seeing it, his friend also followed him and tried to refrain him from committing suicide. In the process, both of them were killed after being run over the train.”
Government Railway Police sent the bodies for post-mortem and began an investigation into it.
