Mayurbhanj: Unidentified burglars reportedly looted gold ornaments and cash worth Rs 22 lakh from a house in Badheibholk village under Karanjia police limits on Sunday night. The house is located just a few hundred meters from the police outpost.

According to reports, the robbery took place when no one was at home and the thieves broke into the house by smashing the window.

Later, on being informed, Karanjia police personnel arrived at the scene and launched an investigation into the matter.

The police assume that the thieves were aware that no one was at home and thus they could cut the window grills and break into the house without much difficulty and flee the area after the crime.

A police dog and a scientific team from Baripada arrived at the scene for further investigation into the case.
