Puri: Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal offered prayers at Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri on Tuesday, marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s record tenure as India’s longest-serving PM.
Speaking to reporters after darshan, the Minister said it was a significant day for India and for the country’s democracy. He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has had the distinction of serving as an elected representative and as Prime Minister for the longest period in India’s history. During this tenure, the country has witnessed a stream of good governance and development.
He added that he prayed to Lord Jagannath for the well-being of the nation and the Prime Minister on this occasion.
Following the darshan, the minister lit a lamp near the Aruna Stambha on the temple premises. Puri MP, BJP workers and well-wishers were present during the visit.
Meghwal also noted that special prayers and pujas were being held for the Prime Minister’s well-being at temples across the country today.
