Bhubaneswar: In her visit to Bhadrak district, Usha Padhee, the Principal Secretary of the Housing & Urban Development Department of Odisha, paid a visit to the Aahar Kendra situated in Bhadrak town, which is managed by the Radha Krushna Self Help Group (SHG).
The initiative plays a significant role in serving nutritious and affordable meals to the urban poor and working class.
During her visit, Padhee interacted with the SHG members and beneficiaries, expressing her appreciation for the high standards of food quality and hygiene maintained at the facility. She acknowledged the dedication of the women of the Radha Krushna SHG, highlighting their contribution not only to food security but also to community well-being and women’s empowerment.
“The dedication of these women in running the Aahar Kendra efficiently reflects the power of community-led initiatives in urban governance. Their commitment is truly inspiring,” said Padhee.
Her visit reinforces the State Government’s ongoing commitment to strengthening livelihoods through SHGs and ensuring dignified, nutritious meals under the Aahar programme.
