Bhubaneswar: Vaccination rate is low in five districts of Odisha, with four districts recording low coverage of the first dose, said Family Welfare Director and Odisha vaccination in charge Dr. Bijay Panigrahi on Wednesday.
Panigrahi informed that low coverage of the first dose has been recorded in districts of Gajapati, Sundargarh, Cuttack, Angul, and that of the second dose in Mayurbhanj.
Yesterday, a total of 20,130 health workers, 12,133 frontline workers, and 13,864 comorbid people aged 60+ were administered the precaution dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. Similarly, 79,527 individuals in the age group of 15-18 received the vaccine jab.
With this, a total of 46,109 persons received the precaution dose on Tuesday taking the total tally of persons administered with the booster dose in Odisha to 96,684.
Around 92% of beneficiaries have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. Among them, 90% have received the second dose. Door-step vaccination drive is underway for beneficiaries yet to receive the first dose.
