Bhubaneswar: Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of aluminium, organized a Block Level Felicitation Programme under Mission ABHIPSA at KG Girls High School, Samasingha, recognizing 157 top-performing students from government schools across the district for their performance in the annual board examinations.
The programme was attended by over 200 students, parents, teachers and community members, along with Dr. Radhakanta Gartia, District Education Officer, Jharsuguda; Prakash Sahu, Block Education Officer, Kolabira , Anil Patel, Block Education Officer, and the company management.
Implemented in partnership with the district administration, Mission ABHIPSA seeks to improve academic outcomes among students from government schools through focused mentoring, academic support and regular assessments. The initiative is designed to help students perform better in board examinations, bridge learning gaps and build confidence to pursue higher education and future career opportunities.
Speaking on the occasion, C Chandru, CEO – Vedanta Aluminium, Jharsuguda, said, “Education is one of the most powerful enablers of social transformation. Through Mission ABHIPSA, we are working to bridge learning gaps and enable students to reach their potential. Expressing her gratitude, Ananya Pradhan, an A1-grade achiever from Samasingha Block, said, “The guidance and motivation provided through Mission ABHIPSA helped me stay focused and confident throughout my preparation. Being recognized today has encouraged me to dream bigger and work harder towards my goals.”
In FY26, Vedanta Aluminium’seducation-focused interventions reached over 15,000 students, supported by programmes such as Vidyagraha, which engaged over 11,000 student registrations across 106 schools, along with initiatives in computer literacy, infrastructure support, career counselling and teacher capacity building.
Mission ABHIPSA forms a key part of this approach by providing structured academic support, mentoring and regular assessments to strengthen learning levels and improve board examination performance, while initiatives like the VeDakshata Skill Centrefurther enable youth with industry-relevant skills, creating a continuum from education to employability and strengthening long-term socio-economic outcomes across Jharsuguda.
Vedanta Aluminium continues to drive community development across its operational regions through a comprehensive suite of initiatives spanning education, healthcare, sustainable livelihoods, women empowerment, and rural infrastructure, in close partnership with local authorities to ensure meaningful and long-term impact.
