Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday apprehended Revenue Inspector Dilip Sahu of Durgapanga Revenue Circle under Kotagarh Tehsil in Kandhamal district for demanding illegal gratification of Rs 5,000 from a complainant.
According to sources, Sahu had demanded Rs 5000 from a complainant for processing his application in a mutation case for issuance of ROR (Land Patta).
Acting on a tip-off, vigilance officers laid a trap and caught Sahu red-handed while he was receiving bribe money. The entire bribe money has been recovered from the accused Sahu and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches were carried out at two locations of Sahu from a DA angle.
Berhampur Vigilance registered a case in this connection.
