Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance today arrested Additional Civil Supplies Officer (ACSO) of Bhanjanagar Sanjay Kumar Sahu for alleged possession of disproportionate assets to the tune of 139 per cent of his known sources of income.
The anti-graft agency registered a case against ACSO Sahu on Thursday under section 13(2) read with 13(1)(b) of the PC Amendment Act of 2018.
Sahu was forwarded to court by the Vigilance as he could not account for satisfactorily for the disproportionate assets.
During house searches, the Vigilance unearthed two three BHK flats, one building in Patia area of Bhubaneswar, 3 plots in and around Bhubaneswar, bank and other deposits of over Rs 21.57 lakh, 200 gm gold jewellery, one car worth Rs 13.19 lakh and 2 two-wheelers and household articles worth Rs 8 lakh.
The Vigilance has said that after a thorough search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Sahu were calculated and he was found in possession of disproportionate assets which is 139 per cent higher than his known sources of income.
Further investigation in the case is under progress, the Vigilance said.
