Bhubaneswar: Sambalpur vigilance sleuths arrested Revenue Inspector of Kesheibahal Tulasa Pradhan and an amin Mukesh Sahu of the same office for demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs 7,000 as final instalment from a complaint to make a field enquiry in a land issue.

According to sources, earlier the complainant had paid Rs 3,000 as per the demand of Pradhan and Sahu. As they demanded more Rs 7,000 to do his work, the complainant brought the matter to the anti-graft department.

On a tip-off, the vigilance team laid a trap and nabbed both the accused persons, while Sahu was accepting the final instalment of bribe amount Rs.7,000 from the complainant as per the direction of RI Pradhan. The entire tainted bribe money has been recovered and seized from the accused persons, Pradhan and Sahu.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations each from a DA angle.  Sambalpur Vigilance registered a case in this connection under Section 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018.
