Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths today arrested a Revenue Inspector for receiving bribe from a person for submitting enquiry report to Tahasildar in connection with the conversion of paternal agricultural land to homestead land in Bonth of Bhadrak district.
Accused Sarat Kumar Jena of Kenduapada Revenue Circle under Bonth Tahasil demanded Rs 9,000 from the complainant as bribe to submit inquiry report to Tahasildar, Bonth in connection with the conversion of paternal Agricultural land to homestead land and issuance of ROR ( Gharbari Patta).
The entire bribe money has been recovered from the exclusive possession of accused Jena and seized, vigilance said.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations of the RI from DA angle.
Balasore Vigilance registered a case U/s 7 P.C. (Amendment) Act, 2018 in this connection. The investigation is in progress against the accused revenue official.
