Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance department has made significant recoveries from the rented residence of Sarita Barik, Assistant Commissioner of State Tax, Bhubaneswar, following her arrest for accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000.
The searches yielded cash amounting to Rs 1.45 lakh, 222 grams of gold, and deposits worth around Rs 60 lakh.
Additionally, jewellery bills and documents related to property purchases in Bhubaneswar were also seized. Barik has been arrested and will be produced before the Bhubaneswar Vigilance Court today.
