Vigilance Court Convicts Retired Govt Official In DA Case

Bhubaneswar: The Special Judge, Vigilance, Baripada, has convicted a retired Ministerial Vehicle Inspector (MVI) from Mayurbhanj, in a disproportionate assets case. The court sentenced Bijay Kumar Pati  to two years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 1,00,000.

Following the conviction, the Odisha Vigilance will initiate proceedings to stop the pension of the convicted official.

The case was registered under Sections 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and Section 109 of the IPC.
