Bhubaneswar: Vigilance officials on Tuesday conducted simultaneous searches at seven locations linked to Padmalochan Nayak, Executive Engineer of CADA (Command Area Development Authority), Sambalpur Division, on allegations of possessing disproportionate assets (DA) beyond his known sources of income.
Acting on a complaint, a team of Vigilance officials led by four Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), 13 Inspectors, seven Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), and other supporting staff carried out the searches on the strength of warrants issued by the Special Vigilance Judge, Sambalpur.
The raids are underway at the following seven places across Sambalpur, Cuttack (Kataka), Balasore (Baleshwar), and Malkangiri districts:
- Rented residential house of Sri Padmalochan Nayak at Dhanupali, Sambalpur.
- His triple-storeyed residential building at Bidyadharpur, Cuttack.
- His double-storeyed residential building at Mukhalis under Basta Police Station, Balasore district.
- Office chamber of Nayak at Dhanupali, Sambalpur.
- Two locations at the residence of his associates in Cuttack town.
- One location belonging to his associate at Kalimela, Malkangiri district.
Searches are still continuing, and further details are awaited.
