Bhubaneswar: Jitendra Kumar Jena, a Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO) in Keonjhar’s Hatadihi block, has been arrested by the Odisha Vigilance team for possessing disproportionate assets.
Jena, who served as the PEO of Bancho GP, was found to have accumulated wealth beyond his known sources of income.
According to the vigilance report, Jena was found to be in possession of a triple-storey building, a double-storey market complex worth over Rs 1.34 crore, six plots, approximately 100 grams of gold, Rs 34.06 lakh in deposits, and a four-wheeler, among other assets. He failed to provide satisfactory explanations for these assets.
A case (No. 20/2025) has been registered against Jena at the Balasore Vigilance PS, and the investigation is ongoing.
It is learnt that Jena will be presented before the Special Judge, Vigilance, Keonjhar, today.
