Bhubaneswar: In a significant breakthrough, the Vigilance sleuths unearthed disproportionate assets worth Rs. 1.43 crore and 1.5 kg gold belonging to Rama Chandra Nepak, Deputy Ranger, and his family members.
Ongoing house searches have revealed multiple assets, including residential properties, land parcels, valuables, and investments.
During the searches, a staggering Rs. 1,38,90,000 was found concealed in a secret treasury in his flat no. 510 at Golden Height Residential Apartment, Jeypore Town. The total cash recovery stands at Rs. 1,43,34,000, which also includes Rs. 4,44,000 recovered from Nepak’s residential house in Jeypore Town, Koraput district.
Further, the searches led to the discovery of gold weighing 1.5 kg and silver weighing 4.637 kg. The assets unearthed also include multiple residential properties, land parcels, and a four-wheeler.
The searches conducted at Nepak’s residences and other locations have led to the discovery of:
- Three residential properties, including a triple-storeyed building in Jeypore and two 3-BHK flats and two 2-BHK flats in Bhubaneswar and Jeypore.
- Two high-value plots in Jeypore town.
- The cash and gold were recovered from various locations, including Rs. 1.38 crore concealed in a secret treasury in one of his flats.
- One four-wheeler (KIA Carens).
The Vigilance Technical Wing is currently conducting detailed measurements and valuation of the identified properties and assets.
Further investigation is underway to ascertain the extent of Nepak’s disproportionate assets.
