Bhubaneswar: Three teams of Odisha Vigilance have been deputed to the states of Tripura and Himachal Pradesh at places linked to IAS officer Dhiman Chakma for further verification following his arrest in a bribery case.
Chakma, a 2021-batch IAS officer and Sub-Collector of Dharamgarh in Kalahandi district, was arrested on June 9, 2025, for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10 lakh from a local businessman.
The Vigilance teams are conducting searches and verification at Chakma’s residential house in Kanchanpur, North Tripura, and his in-laws’ houses in Saminala, PS-Manali, Dist-Kullu, and Rangbey, PS-Keylong, Dist-Lahole-Spitti, Himachal Pradesh, armed with search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhawanipatna.
During the searches, the Vigilance teams are collecting and scrutinising relevant documents related to deposits and investments in banks and other financial instruments. They are also ascertaining details of other movable and immovable assets from a disproportionate assets (DA) angle.
