Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance has so far unearthed assets worth over Rs 2.61 crore including 2 double-storeyed buildings, 16 plots, bank and insurance deposits of over Rs 46.75 lakh, gold weighing 500 gm and cash amounting to Rs 1,83,416 during house search of Pramoth Kumar Behuria, Assistant Engineer, Rural Works Section Soro, Rural Works Division II, Balasore.
Five teams of the Vigilance conducted house searches at five places in Bhadrak and Balasore districts following allegations of possession of disproportionate assets against Behuria, said an official press release of the Vigilance.
The details of the properties of Behuria and his family members so far are Rs 1,83416 in cash; bank and insurance deposits worth over Rs 46.75 lakh; one double-storeyed building at Bagurai of Bhadrak town and another double-storeyed building on the same campus, both worth about Rs 70 lakh; market complex at Arnapal in Bhadrak worth Rs 16 lakh; 500 gm gold and 1 kg silver recovered from bank locker and house worth Rs 17.66 lakh; and 16 plots including 3 in Bhubaneswar and 13 in Bhadrak valued at Rs 1.04 crore as per sale deed value; one four-wheeler and one two-wheeler; and household articles worth over Rs 4.50 lakh.
Further inquiry is in progress, the official press release said.
