Baripada: Eleven forest department staff were detained by villagers at Siramanipur under Dudhiani Range in Mayurbhanj district over the damage caused by wild elephants in the area.
The villagers detained a Forester and 10 staff members when they had gone to ward off elephants. They took the step due to the delay in getting compensation for the crops damaged by the elephants.
