Athagarh: At least six persons were injured in a violent group clash over past political enmity in Amrutamanohi village in Samsarpur panchayat under Athagarh police limits today.

Crude bombs were hurled and swords were used during the clash. Three persons from each side were injured in the clash and have been admitted to the Sub Divisional Hospital here.

Following the clash a large number of policemen have been deployed at the village to maintain law and order.

According to reports, dispute has been continuing between the two groups ever since the panchayat elections. On July 14, the groups had a face-off over the road to the village cremation ground. Despite a complaint being lodged at Athagarh police station in this connection, the matter was not resolved. Today’s clash was a fallout of the previous face-off.
