Bhubaneswar: In view of the deep depression and associated rainfall, the Water Resources Department has intensified night patrolling and field-level vigilance at strategic locations across the State.
Engineering officers and field staff are maintaining close watch over critical water infrastructure.
As part of the ongoing vigilance, the Assistant Engineer, Sorada Section-I, along with field staff, conducted night patrolling and operated the barrage gates at Padma Barrage of Sorada Reservoir, regulating the incoming water and diverting it towards the reservoir as required.
The Gunupur Irrigation Sub-Division staff undertook night patrolling at multiple locations along the Vansadhara River, including near Sananadi Bridge, CWC Gauge Station, Haldia Sluice and Ktwalguda village. Night patrolling was also carried out near Haldia Sluice as part of continuous monitoring of the river and associated structures.
In addition, night patrolling was undertaken along the Left Flood Bank (LFB) of River Rushikulya to ensure close surveillance of the river and protection infrastructure.
Through these field-level measures, the Water Resources Department is maintaining 24×7 vigilance to monitor river conditions.
