Bhubaneswar: A depression over coastal West Bengal has intensified and moved west-north-westwards at a speed of 22 kmph, currently centered over Gangetic West Bengal. As of 5:30 pm IST on July 25, the system is located near latitude 22.7°N and longitude 87.4°E, approximately 30 km north-northeast of Medinipur, West Bengal.
The depression is expected to move west-northwestwards across Gangetic West Bengal, North Odisha, Jharkhand, and north Chhattisgarh over the next 24 hours, bringing heavy to very heavy rainfall to these regions.
North Odisha, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh may face heavy rainfall, with waterlogging and flooding in low-lying areas.
