Bhubaneswar: Five districts of Odisha are likely to witness heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) tomorrow, according to the prediction of India Meteorological Department on Saturday.
“Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Koraput, Malkangiri, Keonjhar,” read the IMD prediction for August 11.
According to the IMD forecast, thunderstorms with lightning are likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Dhenkanal.
However, there will be a short break in heavy rainfall in Odisha districts for three days, starting from August 12.
After a brief respite, the regional weather office has predicted a return of heavy rainfall in North Odisha, with some districts likely to receive intense downpours on August 15 and 16. According to the IMD forecast, one or two places in the region can expect heavy rainfall, ranging from 7 to 11 centimetres, during this period.
