Weather Alert: Thunderstorm With Lightning Likely In 18 Districts Tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: As many as 18 districts are likely to witness thunderstorms with lightning on Thursday, according to the weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department.

Going by the bulletin, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangapur, Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati. The Meteorological department issued a yellow warning to these districts.

For October 4, the weather office predicted light to thunderstorms with lightning for Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul and Dhenkanal. These districts have been issued a yellow warning.

“Thunderstorms with lightning are very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal”, read the weather forecast for Friday.

Meanwhile, the IMD has alerted seven districts for light to moderate rain and thundershower in the next three hours.

As per the IMD’s announcement, Koraput, Raygada, Jajpur, Khorda, Gajapati, Kalahandi And Deogarh will be affected by moderate rain and thundershower in the next three hours.

Keeping the inclement weather conditions in view, people are advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
